Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy
BCST is a physical therapy that has its roots in working with the skeletal system, in particular, the cranium and sacrum, especially as these pertain to the nervous system and fluids of the body. Therapists are trained to palpate the whole body, feeling structures and patterns, including patterns of tension and the flow of fluids in the structural body. As a therapist holds the place of concern in a calm and settled manner, the body can attune to the quiet then release tensions. As this happens, held energy releases throughout the rest of the body and fluids can circulate more freely.
This therapy is great for patterns that have a stressful or traumatic edge to them, be it emotional or physical. Current research confirms that the body is incredibly intelligent at resolving its own unhealthy patterns. It just needs to feel safe to do so.
As stated in attachment theory, our bodies are hardwired to need safe touch, even before food. When we are born, secure contact is our first need. It enables us to get food and attune to continuing safety and love. When a body feels safe, it can then let go of patterns no longer needed and move toward greater health.
Headaches & Migraines
BCST is excellent for headaches and migraines. Tensions and nervous system activation can start to unwind and clear as your body learns new ways of being.
Chronic stress Trauma
As stated in attachment theory, our bodies are hardwired to attune to safety. As a therapist holds the body/brain in a calm, safe and settled manner, the body can attune to calm and let go of patterns no longer needed, moving towards greater health.
Pregnancy and Post Delivery
As the time nears for delivery, BCST can help calm the nervous system and relax the ligaments in preparation to meet your new little one. After delivering, BCST can help your body settle back into place.
BCST is useful for calming your baby’s nervous system and releasing any areas of tension. Examples are sleeping issues, digestion, and general irritability.
Pain is the brain’s interpretation of the level of harm it thinks is happening at a given spot. BCST is excellent for treating causes: be it nervous system activation, connective tissue disturbances, fluid distribution, etc.
